The Benue State Project Management Unit (SPMU) of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project today, received its February activity reports from the Focal Non-Governmental Organizations (FONGOs) operating across the state’s three senatorial zones. The reports were presented at the Conference Hall of ACReSAL Project Office, highlighting the NGOs’ progress in implementing the project’s objectives.

State Project Coordinator, Bldr. Victor Ama expressed his appreciation to the FONGOs’ contributions to date. He emphasized the importance of extending ACReSAL’s reach to remote areas, urging the organizations to intensify their efforts to promote sustainable landscape management practices across Benue State.

The FONGO reports detailed a range of activities, including scaling up of Community Revolving Funds (CRF) in various local government areas, conducting sensitization and advocacy campaigns, fostering community ownership of ACReSAL project sites, establishing forest management committees, collecting relevant data, campaign against bush fire, and raising awareness about Gender-Based Violence.

The SPMU’s receipt of these reports demonstrates ACReSAL’s commitment to transparency and accountability. By actively engaging with local NGOs and incorporating their insights, the project aims to ensure its initiatives effectively address the specific needs of Benue’s communities and contribute to the sustainable management of its landscapes.
