The Nigeria Environmental Society led by the State Chairman of the branch on Monday, 11th of September paid a courtesy call to the State Project Coordinator of Benue ACReSAL Bldr. Victor Ama in the Project’s office. The State Chairman of the Benue Environmental Society was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Secretary, Publicity Secretary, and other members of the association. Addressing the State Project Coordinator, the Chairman of the Benue State Chapter of the Society stated that their visit to his office was to introduce themselves and also express their willingness to partner with the ACReSAL Project since both bodies are working towards the creation of a sustainable society and environment.
Dr. Timothy Ishi, the State Chairman of the association stated that their society encourages tree planting, capacity building, sensitization, and promoting sustainable environmental practices. Dr. Ishi further stated that their society was also made up of corporate agencies that are registered with them. The Director of Rural Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hydrogeology, Mr. Stephen Alakih thanked the Governor of Benue State His Excellency Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for the support he has rendered to Benue ACReSAL since the assumption of office. The Vice Chairman of Nigeria Environmental Society Benue Chapter Mr Akaaka who is an environmental consultant informed the State Project Coordinator that the society can help the project with Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental auditing, and management.
The State Project Coordinator of the ACReSAL Project in Benue State, Bldr. Victor Ama thanked the Benue State Chapter of the Nigerian Environmental Society for deeming it fit to visit the project office to offer their partnership and willingness to make the project a success in the state.
The SPC informed his guests that as a builder by profession, he is extremely happy that his colleagues are willing to improve sustainable land management practices and improve environmental awareness. He urged the society to come up with good ideas that the project can engage in to bring about better environmental conditions than what is obtainable in the state at the moment. The State Secretary of the Nigerian Environmental Society in his vote of thanks appreciated the State Coordinator of ACReSAL for receiving them warmly and promising to carry them along in the execution of his duties.
