The General Manager of the Benue State Environmental and Sanitation Agency (BENSESA), Chief Anta Igbaato, has commended the Benue ACReSAL Project for its interventions aimed at improving environmental sanitation in the state, describing the support as impactful and beneficial to residents.
Chief Igbaato stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Project Coordinator of the Benue ACReSAL Project, Bldr. Victor Ama, at his office in Makurdi.
He said the provision of a solar-powered borehole and waste evacuation buckets by the Project for deployment at strategic locations had received positive feedback from beneficiaries and contributed to improved environmental sanitation.
According to him, the waste buckets have particularly enhanced compliance among residents by providing designated points for waste disposal, thereby helping to reduce indiscriminate dumping and promote a cleaner Makurdi metropolis.
The BENSESA helmsman further appealed for additional interventions, particularly the solarization of the Agency’s offices, noting that access to alternative and sustainable power would enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Responding, the State Project Coordinator, Bldr. Victor Ama, thanked the BENSESA team for the visit and reaffirmed ACReSAL’s commitment to institutional strengthening, one of the Project’s core mandates.
He emphasized that the ACReSAL Project is simply carrying out the vision of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, who is committed to ensuring a clean and healthy environment in Makurdi and other towns across Benue State.
Bldr. Ama added that ACReSAL remains willing to collaborate with relevant MDAs in advancing environmental sustainability and building a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Benue State.
The BENSEA GM was accompanied on the visit by the secretary of the Agency, Mr. Igbalumun George; the Director of Operations, Orowa Jacob; HOD Public Health, Dcn. Mary Isaac and Gberindyer Roseline.
