The Benue State ACReSAL Project has taken another significant step toward empowering communities and strengthening livelihoods with the official handover of the construction site for a Skills Acquisition Centre at Benue Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, to the contractor, for the immediate commencement of work.

The site handover was conducted by the ACReSAL team, led by the State Project Coordinator, Bldr. Victor Ama, who was represented by the Project Engineer, Engr. Bem Michael Iorwua, alongside the management of Benue Polytechnic, Ugbokolo led by it’s Rector, Arc. Dr. Henry Ojobo

Speaking during the exercise, the State Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, Bldr. Victor Ama, explained that similar Skills Acquisition Centres are being established across the three senatorial zones of Benue State. According to him, the initiative aligns with ACReSAL’s mandate to improve livelihoods, build resilience, and promote sustainable economic opportunities for communities within the state’s watersheds.

Expressing appreciation, the Rector of Benue Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Arc. Dr. Henry Ojobo commended the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his unwavering commitment to education and human capital development through the approval of this strategic intervention. He noted that upon completion, the centre will provide practical, hands-on skills training for students and members of the host community, enhancing employability, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.

This intervention reflects ACReSAL’s continued commitment to investing in people by creating opportunities that equip individuals with practical skills, foster inclusive growth, and contribute to sustainable community development across Benue State.
