The State Project Coordinator of the Benue Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), Builder Victor Ama, has expressed readiness to foster strategic partnerships that will enhance climate resilience and strengthen agricultural productivity in the state.

Bldr. Ama stated this when he received the leadership of the Benue Agro Revolution Programme (BARP) on a courtesy visit to his office. The team, led by BARP Secretariat Lead, Mr. Samuel Agwa, was accompanied by other members of the programme.

The State Project Coordinator commended the BARP team for their foresight, stressing that partnerships of this nature are central to the success of ACReSAL’s mandate. He further reiterated that the project remains open to credible collaborations that align with its objectives of land restoration, climate adaptation, and food security.

Bldr. Ama also lauded the State Governor, His Excellency Rev Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for initiating and implementing BARP in Benue State, describing it as a timely intervention that complements the World Bank–assisted ACReSAL project. According to him, such initiatives will not only boost agricultural productivity but also ensure food security and prosperity for the state and the nation as a whole.

In his remarks, the BARP Secretariat Lead, Mr. Agwa, explained that the visit was aimed at exploring partnership opportunities with Benue ACReSAL, particularly through the Nigerian Farmers’ Soil Health Card Scheme. He emphasized that such collaboration would be instrumental in improving soil fertility management and equipping farmers with tools to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to continue discussions aimed at establishing a concrete framework for collaboration in the near future.
