Benue ACReSAL Explores Partnership with Rice Value Chain Stakeholders to Boost Production

The Benue Agro-Climate Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project is exploring strategic partnerships to enhance rice production in the state, starting with a recent interface with the Benue Nasarawa Cross River Rice Promoters Association (BENACRRIPA).

A delegation from BENACRRIPA, led by its President Rt. Hon. Timothy Iorchor, paid a courtesy visit to the State Project Coordinator of Benue ACReSAL in his office, seeking collaborative opportunities to significantly increase rice yields within the state. BENACRRIPA outlined their comprehensive service portfolio, encompassing rice production, processing, offtaking, input supplies, contract farming, and crucial extension services for farmers.

State Project Coordinator, Bldr. Victor Ama, expressed his appreciation for BENACRIPA’s interest and proactive approach. He emphasized ACReSAL’s open arms to partnerships with organizations possessing the experience and expertise to promote climate smart and sustainable agricultural practices.

Bldr. Victor Ama further highlighted the project’s commitment to supporting rural farmers, enabling them to improve their livelihoods through increased food production. This potential collaboration signals a significant step towards bolstering the rice value chain in Benue State, leveraging the combined strengths of ACReSAL’s resources and BENACRIPA’s on-the-ground expertise to achieve greater agricultural sustainability and economic empowerment for local farmers. The partnership is expected to lead to increased efficiency and productivity in rice farming, contributing to food security and economic growth within the state.
